Cosy renovation of historic buildings
Living with atmosphere, history and a pleasant climate.Wir alle sehen sie jeden Tag, die Bausünden aus den 60er-, 70er- und 80er-Jahren. Was damals modern war, empfinden wir heute als nicht mehr erstrebenswert. Das in den 90ern als klein und eher schrullig wahrgenommene Vorhaben Einzelner ist inzwischen eine große Bewegung geworden: der Erhalt alter Bausubstanz. Es ist chic, in alten, gut sanierten und modernisierten Gebäuden zu wohnen.
Mit den Anfängen dieser Bewegung ist auch unser Firmengründer Jörg Meyer auf den Baustoff Lehm zugekommen. Eher aus Zufall, weil in der Nachbarschaft beim Renovieren eines Fachwerkhauses helfende Hände gebraucht wurden.
An old-school clay builder was at work here, instructing the helpers and showing them how to properly line the half-timbered structure using simple tools and clay. That was the moment when my passion for clay as a building material was born.

Simply natural, naturally simple.Obwohl auch denkmalgeschützte Häuser eine energetische Sanierung durchaus vertragen können, ist es bei ihnen nicht so einfach. Mal eben eine dicke Dämmung an der Fassade anbringen, das wäre keine gute Idee. Nicht nur, weil es dem Gebäude den Charme nähme, es ist bautechnisch und mit Blick auf die Denkmalschutzvorgaben einfach nicht möglich. Und trotzdem: Die Heiztechnik, wie sie im Zusammenhang mit Lehmbau möglich ist, bedient sich der bauphysikalischen Besonderheiten des Hauses und sorgt dafür, dass die Anforderungen des Denkmalschutzes bedient werden können, die lediglich eine Dämmung der Innenwände vorsehen.
