Primer

The substrate is the conductor of the surface!*

Whether it’s plasterboard, concrete, OSB, masonry, gypsum fibreboard or internal insulation on loam, the substrate determines the quality of the surface.
It’s wise to prepare the substrate properly and choose the right product.

Remember, loam is forgiving of mistakes.

Various methods of surface preparation

Loam Wall and Ceiling Primer
The conluto Coarse Wall and Ceiling Primer is a white, textured, plant-ester-based primer that acts as a bonding agent on difficult substrates for subsequent loam plasters and Deco clay facIng plasters. It is open to vapour diffusion, very easy to process and has good filling properties.
Specifically designed as an adhesive bridge/primer for conluto Deco clay facIng plaster, fine finish plaster and finishing coat plaster on solid substrates. conluto Primer is ready to use and suitable for all mineral substrates (e.g. concrete, masonry, lime-based substrates), organic substrates (e.g. plasterboard) as well as for firmly adhering existing coatings.

Casein primer
Our casein primer is a colourless, transparent primer for subsequent coatings from our coloured product range, such as Clay paint, Brush-applied clay plaster and Clay smoothing plaster. It can also be used as a plaster fixative for exposed conluto loam plaster surfaces and to further increase the abrasion resistance of conluto loam smoothing plaster and Clay paint. Our casein primer is highly open to vapour diffusion, easy to process and free from preservatives.
