Clay also has disadvantages

Compared to concrete, clay is sensitive to impact and scratches and reacts similarly to gypsum and lime plaster. Clay is not suitable for use in areas exposed to splashing water (bathtubs and washbasins). Clay plaster should not be used on the main weather-exposed sides of buildings. Clay is not particularly suitable for use in plinth and ground areas, with the exception of rammed earth floors in interior areas.
